Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using MeritBoard ("the app", "the service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Service Description

MeritBoard is a team management app for coaches to track merits, demerits, and attendance for their team members. The app stores data locally on your device and syncs to cloud servers for backup and multi-coach collaboration.

Privacy

Your use of MeritBoard is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.

Account Responsibilities

Team Sharing & Coaching

When you share a team with another coach via an invite code or link, they gain access to view and modify all team data (members, merits, demerits, absences). The team owner retains control over:

All changes made by any coach are logged with an audit trail. You acknowledge that shared coaches can add, edit, and delete team records.

Usage Limits

We reserve the right to modify these limits at any time.

AI Reports

MeritBoard offers AI-powered reports that use artificial intelligence to format and summarize your team's data. You acknowledge and agree that:

Spreadsheet Import

MeritBoard supports importing team data from Google Sheets and Excel files. By using this feature, you acknowledge that:

Data Export

You may export your team's data as CSV files via the iOS share sheet. Once exported, you are responsible for the security and handling of that data. Exported files may contain personal information (team member names and records).

Data Ownership

You retain ownership of all data you enter into MeritBoard. We do not claim any rights to your content. We may process your data as described in our Privacy Policy to provide the service.

Data Security & Developer Access

We take the security of your data seriously. All data synced to our cloud servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption managed by our infrastructure provider (Cloudflare). Data stored locally on your device is protected by Apple's built-in Data Protection framework.

While your data is encrypted, authorized MeritBoard personnel may access the database in the course of operating the service — for example, to diagnose technical issues, respond to your support requests, ensure service integrity, or comply with legal obligations. We will not access your data for marketing, advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing and improving the MeritBoard service.

For full details on our security practices, see our Privacy Policy.

Intellectual Property

The MeritBoard app, including its design, code, features, and documentation, is the intellectual property of its developer. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for its intended purpose. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works from the app.

Third-Party Services

MeritBoard relies on third-party services to function, including Cloudflare (for cloud storage, API hosting, and AI processing) and Apple (for authentication and device services). We are not responsible for the availability, performance, or practices of these third-party services. Your use of Sign in with Apple is subject to Apple's terms and conditions.

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from Settings > Account > Delete Account. If you are the sole owner of a team, deleting your account will also delete all team data. If you own teams shared with other coaches, you should transfer ownership before deleting your account. Account deletion removes your local data and marks your server-side data for deletion.

Service Availability

We strive to maintain service availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The app is designed to work offline, with data syncing when connectivity is restored. Cloud features (sync, AI Reports, team sharing) require an internet connection.

Disclaimer of Warranties

MeritBoard is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer of MeritBoard shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the app.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the service at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these terms or is harmful to other users or the service.

Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the terms were last revised. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
